Monday-Normal class and library work. Evening event was the Harlem Globetrotters. We had great seats and enjoyed the show. But some of their magic has gone with the years. They need Meadowlark Lemmon back on the court.
Tuesday-Kaye's birthday bash! Lunch at Turtlebay Leilei's resturant. I had seared Ahi and Kaye had baked Ahi, both delicious. It was so nice to have a great meal. Expensive, but worth the treat. Then back to open presents from family and friends. Kaye loved the attention and support.

Wedneday- normal work day. (Golf afternoon for me, shot a mulligan 40) Evening was temple time for me and Kaye had a RS presidency meeting with the branch sisters. She enjoys being a mentor to these girls. They are learning important skills as they are in the big transition of life. Being a YSA is not an easy time of life.
Thursday- Normal work day. After work cleaned apartment and did laundry. That has been my job during our mission because my schedule is more flexible.
Friday- spent day in Honolulu running errands. Kaye finally found a mumu that she likes. The one provided by the PCC felt like it was made of canvas, so hot and uncomfortable. So next week you will get to see the new outfits. On the road we stopped at the valley of the temples near Kanohe. Here are a couple of photos of the Buddhist temple.

Saturday spent preparing lessons for next week and Sunday. Kaye worked on her Family History lessons and me on my regular lessons. Kaye is proud of the School of Education professional library that she has been working on for the last while. The professional books and other printed resources were matter unorganized in the school and really unavailable to teachers and students. She has organized an unused room into a library, organized and weeded the collection and added updated volumes. It has been work, but well worth the effort. She has been amazing in all her assignments.

What a week. Tomorrow is fast Sunday with all the "break the fast" activities. Who knew that breaking the fast was such a big thing. We have one with the Branch (Cafe Rio party) and then one with the missionary couples. So much for our diet.
I've never seen the likes of those orchids! Beautiful. So glad you had a happy birthday. I called North Shore Nails and am trying to figure out the missing gift card situation.
ReplyDeleteI love reading this blog - you are both such great examples of blooming where you are planted. You see a need and get busy.
